Default Fishing in the south pacific

Well being from south florida i thought i would shoot on and post a report since its been about 3 years since i have checked this forum. So i have been living and surfing down in samoa for some time having come across it in 2000 and in the last three years i brought over a 31 ocean master to explore the potential for marlin fishing, well the marlin fishing has been good and in the season (october- march) seeing around 3-4 fish a day along with some fish that had us put our 50s away and grab 80s then put our80s away just recently and grab all chair 130's and its only a matter of time before we weigh samoas first grander+. Anyway take alook and let us know whaty you think, i will try and report more often but computer is slow at resort. if you are into surfing check us out on surfsamoa.com and rileycooney.com aswell as a new article in surfing and transworld when volcom boys ozzie wright and a few others came down to check things out. we have a perfect right and and very heavy left just out back and only 3 miles from there our marlin fishing begins. We only allow up to 12 surfers in the lineup and we have no crowd just me and my 3 boat men and whoever the guests are so NEVER a crowd and no locals dropping in on you. Come check it ou if youke to geshacked in the morning and catch bluii the afternoon!
Well i put together a report from OUR summer season as end of april will mark the start of our Winter season, south swells and trades.
i call our summer season starting in november. As for september thru october we saw some large marlin in the 600lb range and lost a estimated 900+ lb fish when it died on our charter on 80lb standup tackle and went down in the deep to sulk. now we are runiing 130s when fishng for marlin.
here is the summer report (nov-march)
Well the tropics are warming up and the Marlin have made there return along with good size yellowfins and huge dolphin. We got our biggest bull of the season that went around 50 lbs snagged on Black Barts Pelagic Breakfast, which has been a very hot sailfish and dolphin lure run from the rigger or shotgun position. We also hooked 4 blues that day and one short double hook up on Black Bart's Zulu and the 1656, so i guess we can say the blues are back in town. Our dynamite Black Bart spread has been raising a few fish over here and the Black Bart Kona tube has been on fire, run from the short rigger position around the 4th wave.
In Jan we had the TV show Reel Outdoors here and we were able to get 3 marlin,1 sailfish, a few yellowfin and a bunch of dolphin and wahoo, so go check the show out in HD on the sportsman channel and comcast as well as on demand. For schedule check out the web site reeloutdoors.com
If i can post it here is a Picture with TV host Chris Bailey and our yellowfin which is are avg fish in dec early jan. It was nailed on Black Barts canyon prowler only moments after a 200lb blue swam away with a tag in her back. was a fun day on the water.
Well like i said its heating up here so book your flight and come on down.
Kind Regards
Feb was on and off and a few small marlin in the 150lb range. As for march we had a slow period of Marlin fishing in the start but with the return of the small yellowfin 30lb jellybeans- we saw a surge of Marlin activity catching a double header with both fish looking around 350. Other then that the Dolphin bite is very good and the bigger marlin and tuna are showing up for the winter period aswell as the sailfish shwoing up inshore feeding on the goggle eyes and scads.
i will try and post some highlight photos but not sure if i can work it out and like i posted before if i find where to put it i will post reports monthly.
kind regards and screaming reels.
