This may be a stupid question, but striped marlin just live in the Pacific; right?

That's correct. I've been fishing off the coast here of Mexico and caught several stripes very nice. Landed a 600 + pounder last week. Slow day though there was not many. cheers

The world record for striped marlin is 494 lbs set in 1986 in New Zealand. Most Baja Marlin are between 100 and 200 lbs with a few in the 200 plus class.

Prolly was a blue, not a stripe. Nice blue, none-the-less.
