Default Fin-nor vs. Penn Spinners

I've heard mixed reactions about the new Fin-nor Offshore series. Penns are reliable, but trying something new never hurts.

Fin-nor Offshore or Penn SSm series?

If you want the ultimate in spinning reels take a look at Van Staal. I have two and while they are expensive they are worth it; I have stopped using all my other reels. I have the VS 150 which is a mere 11 oz and have 500 yards of 12lb mono. I also have the VS 250 which is 22 oz and have 500 yards of 20 lb mono on it. These are bailess reels and with a few casts you can easily get used to just pointing your index finger to easily seat the line in. The drag is bullet proof and made for blue water use and also being completely dunked in saltwater surf for Stippers.

Are the fin-nor offshore series spinners pretty good? They are priced right and look smooth.

Contender, I'm going to order a pair early next week. I'll let you know how they perform.

Had a couple of the Fin-Nor Ahab #8 spinners. At first they where great but I soon found out that they can't hold up to the saltwater environment. Major corrosoin issues. Never have one of those again.
