I am assuming you need a harpoon for use in the cockpit. Contact Tightlines Tackle (
www.tightlinestackle.com) for a no-nonsense, well built, and effective harpoon. The owner fishes for tuna and uses what he sells. He knows what works and will custom build to suit your needs. Based in Maine, Tightlines will ship anywhere. I buy most of my gear there. Just a note on safety. My preference is for a harpoon rather than a flying gaff. But with either, keep the line flaked into a basket or box and watch it carefully to keep it out of your feet. I use a 300 foot harpoon line with a Polyform A1 bouy at the end for my cockpit harpoon when fishing for bluefin tuna. I always harpoon fish when they are reeled to the boat but if they decide to go again, I don't (never, ever, ever!) try to hang on. I just step back and let things happen until things calm down and it is safe to handle the line. Or, if need be, just let the fish take the line and bouy out, drag it around until it expires and then handline it in. Hope this helps. Good luck and stay safe.
