Default Live bait from the pier

ANYONE HAVE EXSPIRIENCE WIT HOOKING LIVE BAIT IN THE TAIL OR DORSAL FIN AS AN ALTENATIVE TO KAYAKING BAITS FOR SHARK.ALSO I WOULD LIKE INFO ON THIS SUBJECT IN THE SURF TO.

yeah i totally prefer swiming bait out, alot more effective then yaking most the time a fresh live bait usually get hit on way out...... but u have few vairables ,, gotta get em to swim straight out and not down the beach, usually lot harder to get hand on livie then mass amounts of dead yak baits, but i usually fish a bottom rod in the trough for jacks, blues,ladyfish and cudas aremy prime baits

Have you ever tried an AquaGem Snapfloat? With the right conditions of wind / tide / current, they can be effective for live baiting from the pier platform.
