Default Key West Live Bait??

Hey guys I have been watching the forum for a while and have got a lot of good info from yall already. I normally fish in Marathon or Miami and am making a trip down to KW in a few weeks and wanted live bait for offshore. Were bringing down a 27 contender and wanted to find some pilchards or threadfins for the few days were there. Does anyone have any info that can help? I dont want secret bait spots but just general spots around the area or somewhere the bait has been thick enough to last us a day of fishing. thanks in advance for any help.

the markers in hawks channel South of oceanside marina usually hold threadfins pretty good.

Default bait

Check the beach south of KW for pilchards they will be a little scattered compared to Miami but they can be had early. If you fish west of KW you should look around Boca Grande Island as well they will stay shallow a little later down there.

I would say hit the range marker just north of the harbour thats always pretty money for some threddys. Depending on the boat you will be fishing the back country holds bait on just about every grass flat as im sure you know a block of chum and some small hooks.

Catche em up

Default good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great trip today limit of snowys to start and had turtle swim by with a pile of dolphin following him. We got 4 in the boat before he sounded and took them with him. The snowys should be protected they really need to shut in down there must not be anymore we had to wait at least 15 seconds for a bite. The tuna have disappeared. The water temp was weird 68 out to 600ft only 70 in 800.
