Guys, I need some help here.
I have been able to mark the gogs in PE half an hour to 45 mins before sunset in the channel and see other guys pulling them in on sabiki's but can't get them myself. Any tips on colors or types of sabiki's? What am I doing wrong here? Thanks

IN PE we have done best right before sunrise with #12 sabikis. When you get a couple on, leave it down there and allow the gogs in the area to bite the rest of hooks so you pull up a stringer. You have to mark them on your finder before dropping. Last time out we actually found them while heading out to the balls on the reef also. Got into a big school in about 22 feet of water. This was all before sunrise.

i was out on friday out of PE early and didnt find them either, however if we are really ambitious we usually get to the mouth of the port before sunrise and find them on the finder. its hit or miss though

I just got back from an all nite PE gog fishing adventure. im gettin better this time I caught a dozen and actually had 4 on 1 string. un fortunately I just couldnt go on any longer without sleep and past out at 3am and woke up at 7am on the deck of my boat
wich is prime time. All the help replies and posts on this forum have helped a great deal now all i have to do is dial in my sonar a lil better but ill deal with that tonite. the only sabikis i was able to get them on were #15 white/green hyabusa sabiki rigs i tryed 4 other kinds including the Mustad shrimp rigs with no positive results.

Try the Frenzy Fluorocarbon sabiki #15. If you can't find them at your local store, let me know and I can ship them to you.

You can see the Fluorocarbon Sabiki's from the Frenzy website or on my site.
We have the 4, 6, 8 and 15's. We have some size 14's coming in a week or so. Check out the new Frenzy Fluorocarbon leader too... it's awesome. ReelProShop Frenzy Tackle |

Yes.. the 14 and 15 size hook rigs each have 8 hooks and are considered the long rig. Or you can attach 2 rigs together for a super long rig
![]() Using a custom bait rod really helps catch bait using the long rigs. We have a 10ft rod with a white 3 foot section at the tip to help see the rod at night. It also helps when you rack the bait as you can easily control the baits and not let them flop on the deck. Or guys are cutting the rig in two when using the shorter rods. -Tek |
