I had the opportunity to take one of my best clients (Chad) & non forum member Owen(aka THE BUCKSTER) for 1/2 day Sat 1/27.
While I was "foolin" w kite / sea anchor, Owen started bagging some nice muttons. We gave Chad some more lead & he started getting muttons & tails. Then I hooked / boated a nice dolphin on the kite & broke one off that ate on spin boatside. Got in on the bottom bite as I have a fondness for mutton fillets :king: Got to one of our SKA king honey holes & the kite gets smacked like you would not believe. Line is MELTING off my lt crowder/ torium combo & fish takes up all the "belly" from kite & runs off at least 250-300 yards in a matter of just a few moments. :worthy: I was praying for giant hoo, but was astounded at the size of the king that came up & cruised by /then ran off another 100 yards real quick.(Have weighed 53,54 and 55.5 kings before, but this one looked to be 55-60lbs Having some smoked for fish & dip & know some guys that would like to have caught this on SKA/Mayors cup  OK, we got kings & dollies, how bout a slam w some spindlebeaks?? Had a double come up (one tried to eat a grunt we had just released !!!!) Got tight on the TLD25 & passed to Chad. Fish went nuts, grey hounding & jumping & somehow kinked / broke a small piece of # 6 wire. pon inspection the wire had become brittle Had a lot of fun, tons of laughs, these guys are a BLAST to fish with. Hit me up if you want some smoked king / dip Modified by E-money at 2:29 PM 1/28/2007

Sean:
After getting bit off by a double of wahoos(earlier in the season), it was decided we would be fishing wire traces on ALL kite baits.

Thats a pig slob of a kingfish.....congrats. Love catching kings on kite baits because of the arial show you usually get when they sky on the baits. Mix it up w/ a few gluttonz...thats just plain good times
