Tuna controlling spin with Duster rigs

I'm new to kingfish. I went today and tried using a duster rig with dead cigar minnows behind a plainer. It really looked like they were spinning pretty bad. I used three different minnows. Is there a trick to this, or do they all spin or what? We caught three on plugs and spoons, but I know this method is supposed to be very productive.

We were moving between 3-6 MPH mostly 5-6.2 ish. Any hints that you could give me? We fish out of Panama City.

You are going to have an extremely hard time getting that dead bait to "Swim", especially on the Planer combo.
Try using a large Ballyhoo with a stinger hook set far back, near the tail instead, with a skirt over top of it.

without seeing a photo of your rig, the only thing I can presume is that you're leading hook is not totally lined up with the centerline of the bait. if its off center, it will spin. also if you are running a stinger hook, make sure there is enough slack in the trace to not bind up the bait and let it paddle naturally.
