Default Hi Speed Kingfish - Who Knew?

I had not caught a kingfish in 10 years until the last leg of the Bahamas Wahoo Challenge and then yesterday in another wahoo tournament out of Nassau. Turns out they will hit wahoo lures fast trolled 12-16kts. I have never heard of, or read about catching kings this way, who knew?

BTW these were caught on my BahamaLures

I've caught MANY kings on Yo-Zuri bonita lures, trolled at 10-14 knots. I've also caught them on lead head skirted lures like the one pictured above at those same speeds. We pull lures on our way out to go bottom fishing in the panhandle, so you're usually in kingfish water, not wahoo water.

Thumbs up Bahamalure kingdogs

cool. Knew they were a sucker for certain trolled baits. Looks like the eyes have it for king dogs too
