When I started out fishing in Florida it was bottom fishing. This year I was introduced to the Darkside. I love both. I have yet to hook up on a sword that have given me much of a fight. The 3 I have caught were 48,65,and around 52 inches . They are completely differenbt kinds of fishing and both have there ups and downs. Trolling around is fun too but like swordfishing when the bite is dead it sucks!!

Couple of reasons. I love catching them. I have all the patience in the world and have waited out 45 minutes to get one out of his rock. I take it personally when I have to battle one lol... Also it seems every short by an inch grouper bites my hook. One day I must have had about 20 throwback reds while everyone else was catching legal snapper .. Damn fish

Hey Groupergirl,

Welcome to the forum. I am also new to the forum and wish to make some new friends with persons of similar interests to share information about the bite and such. I fish out of St Lucie on a 39 ft Bertram the "AHHHJUSTMENT' We have been going to the "darkside'" and are still an embarrassing 0 for 6! Maybe we could use some of your lady luck/skill/advice. Good luck and I will be posting on the Swordfish Reports as we get more experience.
PS BOTTOM BITE WAS OFF THE CHARTS SUN. 12/2/07 at the Loran Ledge!
