I'm a brand new member to the forum. Have been viewing for a while and am interested in the sorwfishing you guys do. I live on the FL west coast and this is something we don't get to do. I don't mind any ribbing on the subject, just wnat to learn more about it. May want to run the boat over and try it out.

I was reading on the forum last night about the 50/50. I am a licened captain and do custom charters and boat deliverys, navagation is not new to me. However, what is special about the 50/50? Just a simple explanation will do.

What's up Harold? Welcome.

50 line is refering to Lat/long. 79.50.00. there is nice bottom contour through the area and prefered depths.

No ribbing until after the holidays. .

TD,
Thanks for the reason of that being a place of interest. Structure is everything.

Fishalways, I knew enough to know what the 50/50 was, just didn't know what made it a good starting point, inside or outside. I fish the Keys a lot in the spring & summer and know where the structures are that hold bait and fish, Woods Wall and most of the "Humps". Now that I know there is a bottom at that location, I understand. O ya, I'm not new to running in the dark, offshore trips over here are 40 to 80 miles out, at times it will give new definition of the "pucker Factor".

QQ, thanks and hope to get to know you guys better. If you are ever on the west coast "FL", give me a call and we will make the run offshore.

Harold

I'm just giving TD a hard time, I asked a very similar question to yours and he gave me a ribbing so I figured I'd give him some back.

I am bad at following rules like no ribbing.

Good luck out there see ya on the 50

QQ, the boat arived at Pipewelders in Ft. Lauderdale earlier this month. Should have the tower and all electroincs completed by the end of Jan. 2007. We were planing on leaving it in Miami for a month or two and do some sailfishing over there. If you are up to a teaching trip, I would really enjoy a night of learning this sport. I'll keep you posted on our next trip over for an inspection of the work and progress. Maybe we can get together while I'm in Lauderdale. I'm having her rigged with underwater lights, hope it will help on the "Nnight Life" fishing.

Now the real question is how many people you can get on your boat

You start inviting people your going to get more than you can handle.
