Hey guys,

I've been lurking for a little while and finally decided to take the plunge and join. I'm formally TightlinesPE on the FS Forum, but I wouldn't mind aquiring SFC as my home forum. Everyone here seems real nice and down to earth. Additionally, I see great information exchanged between members and have read quite a few interesting topics.

Anyhow, I am 16 years old and run a 32 Whaler Outrage with 250 Verados but do not sword fish this boat (not allowed to - unsinkable...go figure...)..so it's the sailfish rig. I normally fish with CubanPuerto and Final Point sometimes.

My status on the broadbill is worsening. Our last couple outings have had some action and fish on, but I was on the rod neither time. From a 300 lb. Mako in the light to a nice fish on and possible a double causing a tangled mess, I am still a cherry as much as I've tried. I just hope and hope and hope that we get into fish everytime I go because my outings seem few and far between.

Anyhow, I'm glad I joined and I hope to watch and learn as much as possible.

See you all out there!

Mike

Welcome and keep at it, you'll get em. my outtings are also few and far between... I have only had the opportunity to go out swording 6 times, catching fish on two of the last three trips... (im landlocked at college)

It took me about two years of reading forum stuff and four trips to develop what i believe to be a darn good system for swordfishig as far as my rigs, balloons, weights, leaders, and lights etc. HOWEVER...

what matters the absolute most is knowing where the fish are and knowing that you are on the right numbers, becuase i have rigged up everything perfectly, gone out and fished all ngiht only to discover that my #s were way off and i coulda had 20 lines out and not caught a single fish. more or less wasted opportunity/wasted money and wasted time

so.. TALK TO THE CAPTAINS, get to know people, when someone posts that they caught a fish and is willing to tell you where, write it down and keep track of it. use your age as an advantage. Im pretty sure thats one of the reasons famous captains like Bouncer are willing to show me how to rig or how to get a kite up in the air. It will definatly make a difference,
good luck man!

Hopefully we can scoot out soon! That radar will be helpful out there! 6kw dome should set you up for safety reasons...rod holders going out the sides...bent butt's dream! Bet we can do a sick looking spread with those holders up in the bow and my new rods...

Bow crew + stern crew
