Default New Guy Aboard

I just joined up and wanted to say that this is a great site with a lot of terrific info....I've spent most of my time lake fishing (Walleye, Pike, Yellow Perch, etc.) up here in Michigan, but after my first offshore trip in Nassau last week, I got hooked real bad on saltwater fishing! First fish was a Blackfin Tuna, and more important, I learned a LOT during the trip. Wasn't concerned about fish size or quantity, just wanted to learn to do things right. Planning on trying Ft. Lauderdale early fall ( maybe shark or sail) and going back to Nassau early winter and late spring looking for a Wahoo and continuing my offshore education...Tight lines and a toast to everyone here!

Welcome aboard. If you want sails, wait until the wind starts blowing from the north in the winter.

Pat,

Welcome to the forum,
I am sorry to hear you caught the saltwater virus..... main symptoms are thinning of your wallet, always finding new ways to hide your rod/reels and trip expenses from your wife and finding cheap excuses to get out of work and come south to fish.
by the way, there is no cure for it......

Enjoy,

Sam

The saltwater virus Hahahaha thats funny stuff ......
I have it pretty bad to , the moment my business picks back up in the winter (seasonal work) I am buying a bigger boat , trade in my 17' for a 21'-25' with twin yammys..
I have no money to do this now, still a couple months away , but i can not stay off ebay and craigslist looking for my next boat i cant afford lol.....

Now im really getting rolling , and im kicking myself in the ass for freshwater fishing for so long ..... BORING

Welcome to the site , im still a newbie myself , but with the help of Capt JJ im on the water catching and loving it .....

This site rocks !
