Default Freak coincidence Jack??

I was fishing with a buddy of mine near a bridge. He was using rotisserie chicken quarters (the kind you get already cooked at your local Publix, Kroger, whatever) and caught a nice sized Crevalle Jack. Is this a freak coincidence or do chicken quarters really work as bait??
