Default Whistling ducks

These are whistling ducks at a location in the Bahamas, they are on the endangered species list so unfortunatley no hunting these! They have very long legs for a duck and make noise like no other duck, they chirp and literally whistle. No quack-quack here....... There are about 1500 on this island and only about 5000 total world population. Thought you might like the pictures.

Fulvous whistling ducks I believe. There is a large population of these in Fla.They do migrate down to cuba as well. The population is higher then 5k in fact you can take one in your 6 duck limit.

yep, I think I agree, I looked it up online and no mention of endangerment. Gonna have to go back to my source of feathered info ( Mom ) and see what's up with that.

Yeah but black bellies are either in a tree or 1000ft up.

I have now been reliably informed that this is not the Fulvers duck , but the West Indian Tree Duck. Though it does resemble the Fulvers duck it is the biggest of the whistling ducks and has a listing as Vulnerable with about 15,000 total population throughout the Bahamas, Cuba and Caribbean. Who knew??
