Well guys we got our hunting section lets start posting some reports, stories, questions etc.
I scouted out a few nice spots for my quota hunt in hungryland this weekend.Lots of hogs around and a few deer tracks.I have seen a few does in there before but no bucks. But last week a guy got a nice 8pt that went 150lb.That is a nice deer for SFL.

They have an early Sept hunt this weekend, some STA's are a SAT hunt others are Sun hunts, but the early season is for Teals and Wood ducks only----4 per person total not more than 2 wood ducks
You must have a permit for the STA's that went available in August, doubt there are any left, but you can also show up and try to go in as a stand by. Then reg season i think is in Nov.

Barry, the Permits Dinker and I have are non transferable, but if he or I cant go one time we will get you in with one of us......Each permit is only good for 2 hunters and a observer, if you want to observe we can get you in. Or you can go and do the lottery system for NO-shows and try to get in, but makes a long morning if you dont get in, they only issue a certain # of permits and then if people dont show fill the remaining spots. Actually this weekend we have a permit for morning at STA5 and one for the afternoon at STA 3/4 .....but if we get our limit in 5 which is 4 ducks each then the permit for 3/4 is useless unless we take a new hunter in with us to get 4 more ducks, but that means i couldnt shoot any, would just have to watch you

Those teal are just about as fast as a duck can get.Pass shots on those take alot of practice. But if they decoy up they go down easy.Just don't shoot any mottles or ringers. They will bust you big time in the sta areas with those ducks.Sometimes that hunter 200yds away is not a hunter!

Yup QQ, you get checked just about everytime you go in/out of an STA, so make sure you have all your permits and licenses are up to date

Didn"t even know there was a hunting section on this forum. Quack I have a couple of questions 1 what kind of ducks do we have here in south fla. to hunt? Is there management areas here in south florida when is the season here.I know I am asking some pretty dumb questions but I am an avid hunter with over 60 mounts on the wall all fair chase. I have a large duck collection but would love to add to it. I have hunted in lousianna,an stuckart ark. Any info you could send my way would be appreciated. P.S. I have over 50 turkey kills with shotgun an a dozen or more with a bow an have all the north american species except an osceola any info on birds would be great.
