Quack, My Pops said he has had his eye on a couple nice bucks and a few piggies working the area where he set the stands up. The down side is that he put them on the perimeter road of a bombing range
Lets not wait till the last second to make plans to hunt up there.

If really pissed, injured, or attacked, they have no fear of water. A few years ago my kid injured one with a bad shot from a slug gun. It ran into a shallow canel and swam across. My kid followed. Once the boar made shore it realized my kid was behind him and stood there waiting for a death fight. Fortunately, the water was only about 4' deep and my kid was about half way across and blasted him off. I have a video of this somewhere. Morale of story....they will go into water and they are nasty...bring gun.

I was hoping it was going to follow us in to the water
In the water he could not slash us as easy.He would have tried to bite the hell out of us.A bunch of guys I know say they would rather take a tusk slash then a bite. They take out flesh chunks the size of lemons with every bite not to mention the 100% infection on top of the rabies shots Yeah next time I am going to bring my poon. I really do think a poon with a sharp dart could do the job.Just put the stand a little lower than normal.Dart them then just tie 150ft of rope off on your tree.Or put a jap ball on it with a stobe light. I could just see pulling on a rope that goes into a palmetto head with a big hog on the other side.

If you tape this you will probably get the $25,000 or so award on some TV show if you are around to collect it. Somehow, I would try to get a Hydro Glow into the picture....in an attempt to blind it

Quack,
This must have been the week for getting chased around. Sunday morning I was up in my tree stand in my secret area. It was an hour before sun up and i was ready to see what would come through. We have been seeing many large black bears, tons of turkey and deer. Cant wait for quota time to arrive. Anyhow, i was up in the stand and i look up and all i see is a big ass cat coming my way from the branches above. I was stuck paralyzed with fear. I just sat there as he climbed out on my branch and just sat there looking at me. My frien was just accross the trail in another tree. He saw the cat and could see me shaking..He broke a branch to get his attention. When he turned his head i grabbed my knife and a pole i had up there with me. I guess the fing panther saw me move and started to growl at me. Like i said i was paralyzed with fear. He stood up and moved a bit closer, at this point i figured he was either going to attack me or i was going to attack him. Luckily my friend threw a branch at the tree hiting a bunch of leaves on the ground just below us. The panther looked down and i stuck him in the ass with the pole he jumped down and took off. I had a quick but short sigh or relief when we herd him coming back down the trail. He sat in some bushed right next to the trail for 2 hours. That is definetly the last time i will be in that f-ing tree!! |

Forget about poon'n that hog. If you are close enough to poon em he's gonna eat your ass...I don't care where you hit him. I got chased up a tree once and had to hang there for over an hour while that silly bugger tried to cut the tree down with his tusks. All I did was put an arrow in his girlfriend...No sense of humor.

Before you try a full grown hog with the harpoon, warm up on some piglets first. Ever used a Hawaiian sling on lobsters in the Bahamas and just kept sliding them up the shaft until you had a dozen or so impaled? Same principle. Hell, they probably make the same squealing noise.
Add seasoning, place on grill. Flip once. |
