Well archery season is getting close so I took my bow into Gator gun and archery for some upgrades and a tune up.As the very help full archery expert was writing up my bow work I asked him about any good deals on new bows.He pointed out a great deal on some new Hoyt bows.I picked up the bow looked at it for awhile walked over to the counter and drew the bow. Then to my horror the string slipped from my fingers.
If you know anything about compound bows you know the last thing you do is dry fire a bow.The bow made a loud bang but stayed together.I was left with a mess in my hands that was a nice bow a second before.I do not think I have been so embarrassed.Thank god only my daughter and he saw it.The first think I said was that it slipped and I did not mean to dry fire it.In stead of getting mad or telling me that I just bought a broken bow he said they would send it back to the factory and said it should not be a problem Some places would have gotten mad but not there. They are great guys with great customer service. They have indoor gun and archery ranges. They also offer a gunsmith and archery experts that can dial in a bow for any one.Bob is the shooting instructor there and can teach any one how to shoot well and safely. So whether for gun or archery needs stop by and see the guys at Gator they are first class. West Palm Beach - Gator Guns & Archery Center , 2154 Zipcode Pl, West Palm Beach , FL 33409. Phone: 561-683-1411 Facilities include: Indoor Pistol, Indoor Rifle Hours of Operation: 9:00am-8:00pm Range Access: Public

Eric,
I am a bow hunter as well. It's just lucky that nobody, including yourself, was hurt. Alot of people get nailed badly from dry firing a Compound bow whether it is done intentionally or not . I have been to that shop and they have great people working there, it does not surprise me that they are are going to take care of it. (Sometimes chit happens)!I am looking forward to tagging some nice bucks this year in Georgia, North Carolina and upstate New York.

Eric I bow hunt as well. Lets plan a trip this year to my Dad's place in Ocala. All the scouting is done and the stands are in place. Lets make it up there for archery. Quack get rid of the compound and try a long, or recurve.

I just picked up the new Phantom! Great cross bow, deadly accurate... 2nd shot out of it...Robin Hood'd the first arrow. Can't wait to sling some bolts and a monster buck. There's plenty of public land here in OH...and monster bucks, if any of you all are looking to slay a monster, check into it or let me know if you need some info. |

QQ,
Yea, this is THE place for archery and gun. Been going there for the last 15 years with my boys. Great service, pretty good stock, and will special order anything for you. Aside from Bert, JB, and Bob, Nate and Dave are also good ole boys. By the way, spotted a great 8 pointer near the V.A. Cem a couple of months ago.
