Default Poacher gets whats coming....

From the Slum-Sentinel.....

The guy wants a trophy deer but doesn't bother to go into the wilds and hunt one.

Nah, he steals one -- a captive, domestic, trophy buck from Shadd's Game Farm outside Lake Butler on Sept. 6, reports the Gainesville Sun.

And now Dustin Cole Jernigan is in big trouble.

The deer, named Peabody, was identified by its owner as a stud deer with an extensive lineage. After being killed, the buck's head and cape were taken and found days later at a taxidermist's shop near Jernigan's home.

Now Jernigan learned that the dear is going to cost him a lot of dough. He has to pay $68,000 in restitution for killing the deer. He'll also be serving four years' probation for the crime and also must pay $500 and other court costs.

And it still isn't over.

"I think I'm going to come after him in civil court," Shadd said about pursuing a civil case against Jernigan and another man who supposedly drove Jernigan to the area.

Dwight Knight, president of the Florida Deer Association, said that another deer in the pen next to Peabody is the sibling of an animal that sold for $750,000 earlier this year.

Deer farming is relatively new to Florida but has been going on in other states for more than a decade.

A deer price to pay for a crime.

Where did you find this on Sun-Sentinel? I did searches on their site and couldn't find anything.

Could not find it either, I guess that is why they call it the SLUM-Sentinel, but hear is a link that I found with the story and a picture of the deer.
