Default Ducks--STA5

Headfirst and I went to STA 5 This Sun morning and the ducks were thick and flying. WE are bad shots but got our 6 a piece by around 9am. I was shotting my 20ga as I wait for my new Beretta Extrema2, but I liked the 20 ga , hope the new gun shoots like the 20ga did today!! Cheers

total was:

6 BWT
3 Ringers
1 Mottled
1 Widgeon
1 Shoveler

Forgot to take pics, but the ducks are def thick, also heard good reports for STA 2

Good luck guys

that is cool Zach. I shot there last year with Kyle. It was awesome, I am looking forward to going back. Were you guys standing in the water with the gators or were you in a boat?

I lost two birds to the gators last year.

I didn't tell them. Kyle probably did.

We were standing in the water too. I put my gun down and went to get a bird that fell behind us. kyle said you should bring this and handed me my gun.Sure enough a gator wailed by me about 5 feet a way with my duck.

Yea, I meant on Long Island. we need cold weather to get them going, but there are some birds around.

Not like the STA but that kind of hunting will ruin you if you go to much.

A handful of Black ducks a couple of Malards and a few sea ducks.

Oh, I almost forgot about the pheasant that thought it was hiding in the reeds.

Finn was there. He is a work in progress.

No dead birds Eric. I will be better about the pictures on the next couple of hunts.

He is doing really well, he jumps out of the blind, swims right to the bird (no matter how far) and licks the bird and comes back, then I have to go get it.

He was the same way with the pheasants but he has that down now. We are going to get some weather Sun. Mon. 30 to 40 knots of wind and snow. We will be hunting with another trained dog so it will help him understand what we are looking for. I hope, so I won't have to swim.
