Default setting sights on an easy world record

i dont know if youve heard but the fish and wild life commision is considering allowing a 1 jewfish , (goliath grouper ,which i still dont understand why the name was changed)per boat per day. this would make a very easy world record for all those willing to fight the monster. i have caught a fish over 140lbs on 15 lbs tackle which i think would be a world record. but my point is if you want to possibly break a world record this "could be" the fish to try.

I havnt heard of fwc starting to let us keep 1 per boat per day, but I have seen some jewfish in the keys that could have eatin me. I'm not sure if you could get those bad boys on rod and reel because they were about the size of a vw bug. I agree this fish would be a good species to target for records.

They changed the name because some jews, who had no idea why the fish had gotten its name (because it was so white and clean that they said it could pass Kosher, thus the jews could eat it) got 'offended,' so they decided to name it after the enemy of the jews, Goliath. I call them "Philistinefish" now, when somebody calls it a Goliath Grouper. Goliath was a Philistine, after all....
