Texas Fishing Report - Lower Laguna Madre

Today we launched out of the Arroyo and I was eagerly waiting to hit a local that held plenty of reds the previous week. Our topwaters drew some good strikes from a mix of trout and reds. I landed the first keeper red and then the guys hooked on to some trout. Reds were popping our baits but again were not willing to hit it the second time. We worked the area hard and did pick up a few more trout. I made a run to second spot while looking for fish concentrations and could not find any worth stopping for. A few scattered reds seen in the extremely high water that we are experiencing, this is typical for this time of year. Water temp is dropping and trout are starting to show up in areas were they were not holding a few weeks ago. I guess you could say the fall pattern is starting to sneak up on us. Look for reds to start schooling, there are a few out there already. Our bays will start to empty out with boat traffic and the fishing is going to get better! Thanks for an enjoyable trip guys hope we can do it again.
