Default Big game club rumor!! The new owner will be

Guy Harvey!!!! just a rumor but I think that could be cool. I would love to see him redo and reopen the old club.

I wonder if he'd make good on the deposits I had down just before they closed?

Looks like the deal is getting done;
"Guy Harvey Resort & Outpost"
Looking at a March re-opening...
The point man is a good friend and knows what it takes to accommodate fishermen...
Guess who gets the Frozen bait gig.....
Cheers,

COŃO!!!!! Glad to hear that. This last June when I was in Bimini, and saw that BGC tears came to my eyes. That place was so sad looking I said hope someone would bring that club back up again. Good to hear is Guy Harvey

Now if only somebody would rebuild Ye Complete Angler, that would really be something. Remembering drinking in that place and looking at all the incredible photos still gives me goosebumps.

Wouldn't that be a cool project? trying to recreate the Compleat Angler down to the last detail? The fishing community at large has got to have a multitude of photos and anecdotal descriptions....

Yea that would be awesome if guy buys it. He'll be able to bring back the charm $$$$$$$. All they really need is a giant bar with multiple ring games. Maybe a big tent for everyone to sleep under.

It really should not take much to get it going again. Paint it up redo the rooms a bit. Clean out the empty fuel tanks!!! Slap some new lumber on the docks if needed. Clean the pool and fire up the blender!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now they should have some cool new Big game club shirts. They could get back on the BBC as well.

Default Big game sale for real?

Is it just a big rumor that the big game has been sold? Is it to
reopen as a guy harvey named resort sometime in march 2010? The current owner is a guy named jean wright and he says that it aint
so and is just a rumor. The buyer that is supposed to be involved in it is a mike hargrove (baseball mgr) or mike hargrave (ceo of
bank of america). Who's shooting the bull here? Anyone have any
solid information here?

The leader isn't to the boat yet, but they're gaining line... Plan is to reopen next Spring as "The Bimini Big Game Club, a Guy Harvey Outpost Resort & Marina". Guy and his partners are working with the government and lawyers to resolve a bunch of outstanding issues. They have some exciting plans to revitalize and upgrade the resort and a group of guys who know fishing, diving and marine conservation. And for something new and different - how to run a first class operation. They might even let me sell some chum over there!
Cheers,
Capt Mark

Not sure if the current owner would even be involved in this deal. From what I know he was in debt up to his azz to the Govt there. I know the club was in deep for utilities fuel etc etc. Not sure about all the legal stuff in the islands but it is a bit different then the US. So the old owner might be out of the loop on this one. This is all just me thinking and in no way should be taken as the facts.

Dealing with property and money owed in the islands can be a mess. The Biz laws are a lot different as well. So if the owner is in default to many different parties including the Govt it could take a very long time.

Texaco supplied the fuel to the Bahamian Government and the Government supplied the club on credit until the tab got too big and they shut them down. Those are the two biggest creditors but there are supposed to be other smaller ones. That was the story we got when we were over there 10 days ago and there was no talk then about any re-opening. It would be great but as already stated it's quite the mess right now. Just because people have alot of money doesn't necessarily mean they are going to put it into a venture that they don't think is going to make them more money. Harry
