Default Dolphin caught while trolling!!!!!

I just got a report from some brazilian friends about a dolphin caught on a rapala Cd magnum 24, while trolling for blue marlin

I've never heard of anything like that before.... they told me, the dolphin was over 100 kilos, and they were able to release it unharmed...

the hooks were in his mouth, not an accident....

Joe,
I've had them grab kingfish on two occasions and grab big live baits when fishing tuna off Mexico but never heard of one going after a lure. Harry

COŅO!!!!!! I like those Magnum CD on a flat line for wahoo they work great. I also do well on them in the winter for groupers on the reef. As for blue marlin I'm with Dave, never heard of that before.

DL,

Joe, I have never seen one hooked but the longline guys say they catch em quite a bit and those baits obviously have hooks. Hitting a lure is something else. They are very smart creatures. Wonder how the fight was. A warm blooded mammal is going to pull several times harder than a fish of equal weight.

Thanks for sharing that bizarre news.

Trollong Clark spoons for Spanish off Jupiter, they would pull the hooked Spanish off within a millimeter of the hook. Dozen times.
