Default Lucaya during Thanksgiving

I normally run my boat to S. Florida during the winter for the sailfish bite. I was thinking of running accross to Lucaya for Thanksgiving for some fishing. Is this too early for the Wahoo bite? Is there good local fishing or am I better of fishing out of Bimini? Is the area around West End productive this time of year? How about the bottom bite?

Any insight is appreciated.

The wahoo usually start showing up reliably in the West End/Bimini area in early November and generally the fishing gets better as you go farther into the season. We normally don't make our first trip until the second week in December but last year made an "early" mid November trip with out of town guests. As it turned out the trip was a "slammer" - 42 fish in 3 days and turned out to be the best of the entire winter both for numbers and size surprising all of us. I definitely, based on last year, would NOT be afraid to fish over Thanksgiving and expect to catch fish. Good luck to you, Harry

I wouldn't hesitate to go to Lucaya and eat some Conch Salad and party. Add Kalik Gold.
