Default Sail Club ?

Whatever happened to the sail club? A lot of people that started the sat-tags an put a lot into it seem to have vanished. What happened to the funds that were earmarked for additional sat-tags. How does the sail club tourney go from a rolex qualifier one year to non existant the next year? I have not seen kc post for quite awhile.

LS,

Arthur is being politically correct.

To answer this question we would have to violate Mike's rules.

This may be a dumb question, but what does a tag cost?

ya"ll hid this pretty quick I almost couldn"t find it. ag not sure i ever remember you being at any sail club meeting an you would probably be better served letting the people this post was directed at answer for themselves.Seems to me O that you an I have been through this before if all these people are actually serious about collecting data on swordfish then instead of taking two an three years to deploy tags the scientists should get on a bouy boat an put the tags in. The fish released off of bouys are in much better shape apon release.Im sure ollie or one of the other bouy guys would cut some kind of deal so they could be compinsated for there time. The last time I brought this up your tall buddy was more interested in naming a tag than deploying it. The man that deployed the very first tag has caught 100 fish since then.If your grad student wants to actually get tags in fish an is going to share the info after it has been decoded. I will try an get him on a friends boat.we have been on the fish.Seems to me that if all the tags were deployed it would be easier to get more funded. As far as money were my mouth is if I remember right I was there the night the tags were deployed for the first time an was also there the night of the last sail meeting when eric came an nobody showed, was also there during the forming of your social club. I think that if you were to talk to the people at your meeting they wouldnt mind using the bouy guys to get your tags wet.

LS,

Thats why I said nothing.

All I will say is that they did a great job and it was a great tournament and you have to deal with alot of bs in throwing one. I have never been to a Sail Club meeting, I dont much go to the clubs...but I ran into many people from the SAIL club and they have all been good people. Its too bad they dont throw them anymore, but I understand

I would be willing to go out and catch fish for tagging!
Let me know when you plan on doing it!
