Default Make one?

I found it was easier, albiet more expensive to go to the tackle store and buya flying gaff. (or harpoon, which are becoming more popular).

Unless you are a metal worker and can fabricate the gaff head, you'll probably end up spending more on components than on the whole thing complete!

5/8 Rebar Bent in a u Sharpen tip Weld a barb. Smooth down end to fit into a handle.

Handle
3/4 Galv electrical Conduit Cut vertical grooves in end of pipe and fit the smoothed end of the Rebar in it. Put a pipe clamp where the hook meets the handle and tighten till you have just enough release pressure.

Whamo! Bang! you have a totaly ghetto flying gaff that will work for under 20 bucks.

You will have enough material to make a few of them and they will rust out.

PS also Weld a small loop into the hook to tie the line. I have made many wreck anchors the same way.
