Default I feel old

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987.

They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering! machine

They have always had cable.

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane, Boss, de plane".

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

McDonald 's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

Do you feel old yet? Pass this on to the other old fogies on your list. Notice the larger type, that's for those of you who have trouble reading...

If I may correct you, don't you mean 1989. My older brother is going to college in the fall, and he was born in '89.

BTW, I have a cure for your oldness, GO FISHING!!!!!!!!!!

Eh?

What did you young whippersnappers say?

You damn kids with your so called music.

Back in my day the musicians actually pretended to play their own music.
They didn't sit there and let other people actually do all the work.

Now wheres my commodore 64?

Still to this day everytime I get in the water I think about Jaws or Deep Blue Sea. I was born in 87.

But I would like to congradulate you for your honesty; 1 thing though you should feel old, because you ARE

Default Camels, trammels and vessels

Didn't Mork come from planet Nanoo Nanoo or something like that? Either that or from Mindy's camel toe.

Nine out of 10 men who have tried Camels, prefer women. A testament to the 80's.

Gollie, where did my virginity go? Lost in the trammel.

A poor decade for quality American music IMO, unless you like Boy George or Cindy Lauper. But Van Halen was very good if you go back far enough.

There is a pad of concrete on FAU campus in Boca, adjacent to Dorm??, where I personally scribed in wet mud, a tribute to the Challenger disaster, which I believe was in January of 87, if my senile mind still serves me correctly.

God, I need to go fishing and toss a few more rum and gingers into the hatch.
Then we can talk politics, or perhaps the Origin of Species, or who in the heck is going to bring in that fish that is peeling off line at a rapid rate with 28lbs. of drag applied and increasing.

Good God Almighty which way do I steer? Don't forget your attitude, when you have an altitude.

Wow, I can go on for days about interesting stories from the 80's. Another vessel in the drift. Hey who posted this thread anyway: must be a former longliner; or college student.

When you hear Ozzy Osbourne playing on the musak machine in your dentist office, you know you are old.
I tell my 11 year old that I want to stop in the record store to look for some music, and she asks "what is a record ?".
I tell my wife that I dont want to hear any music that wasn't originaly recorded on vinyl.
Remember President Ronald Reagan, the greatest President to ever live. We should have made him "King" when we had him.
Remember the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979, when Americans could openly voice thier outrage and slander the entire muslim population without worries of being "politicaly correct".

As the Jethro Tull song goes, I would rather be "living in the past". And for you youngsters, Jethro Tull is the name of the band (Ian Anderson is the name of the lead singer).

Here ends the history lesson for the day.
