You can check the area pawn shops, but the crooks must leave a driver license copy in order to pawn stuff, so they may not choose to do that.
I would check the garage sale adds in the paper, no license required to sell at a garage sale. That is some big $$ stuff, they will probably be stupid enough to headline an add with your fishing gear. You could send your friends out on a seek and destroy mission to the garage sales that list fishing equipment.
