Looking to buy a Satellite phone for the ditch bag. Wondering who has what and what is your expirence?

Globalstar has the most economical deal, a phone can be had for under $500 and I think the cheapest plan is like $35 a month. I have used Gstar all over the Bahamas with no reception issues at all.
