South Florida Fishing Report 14 March 06

The 4' slop that we headed into at 7:30 AM laid down with the assist of a Southerly breeze at 8 - 12 kts by 0830. The temperature change,(from 73 to 75 F), stream edge, and weedline were lined up at the 8 1/2 mile mark with a 3 kt north current. Schoolie dolphin were thick around the weedline in 385 to 741 feet of water from Hollywood to Boca Raton. Kingfish were free jumping and smashing trolled ballyhoo at 8 - 9 kts in 30 - 80 feet depths, with the occasional cuda. Wind came about to the east and bumped up the swells back to 4 - 6 ft around 1230 - 1300, and scattered the weedline near the Northern extreme of our trip. All in all, a pretty nice day on the water.
