fishing off the beach in CR

I'm going to Costa Rica again in January, and want to do more fishing off the beach this time. Can anyone recommend what kind of set up to use or tactics? 12 - 15 lb test? thanks in advance

You are best off to use braid on your rod so you can stop the run of a powerful shark or big fish...

I always like to have some sort of kayak or canoe to paddle the bait off to the reef and then come back to the beach and wait for the fish to take the bait..

If you are casting out.. braid is good for casting also..
