Grouper Galore.

THat is probably the light version there. I have seen warehouses here in NY full of every kind of specis you could imagine and never see anything too big.. always alot of shorties.

Well, from that picture no, but I'm sure he gets his share of bi-catch... probably trigger fish and other reef fish of types will die. Good way to bare a reef.

Good find Lake

Here's the pix:

Looks like a lucrative $$ one man operation. I don't like the looks of it though, but all this is legal.. Conservation doesnt start with fisherman, starts at the authorities.

I've seen long-liners with strings of red grouper just like that off of Tampa. And they (NMFS) tried to shut down the recreational harvest saying that 2 per person was wiping out the population!

Default Rembrandt

A Rembrandt in commercial fishermen`s jargon is a gangion of hooks with a Vermillion Rockfish on each hook. Those look like Pacific coast pictures of hook and line fishing for rock cod.Really hard work, and you often end up with cuts and spine punctures all over your hands. It is a clean fishery with very little by-catch that fills in the winter months. My home port was Morro Bay, CA. There used to be some really good spots off point Arguello south of PSL. Rembrandts were getting scarce by 1978 or so. Pacific rockcod are slow growing and take several years to reach maturity.
