sword bills

I had a lesson yesterday from my good friend Ken, but added a little of my own flavor. I am working on some more. We originally had a sticker of a swordfish on the black bill, but we took it off and my brother decided to hand paint it. They both came out great.

Great work there guys. I'm going to have to meet up with you sometime soon and drop off a bill from a 70" fish we got back in May. I was going to have RJ Boyle do it, but I can't get up his way any time soon to drop it off... I saved the mono, hook, and swivel, and would like to frame it all.

I don't mean to de-rail the thread... but can you guys let me in on the best way that you have found to clean and dry out the bill, then priming it also.

soak the bill in the water for about two weeks. when the base falls out, and most of the stink is off, let the bill dry in the sun. then fill the base with car bondo.
