Default Sword Lords Tournament

Congrats to all those that weighed fish.

Team Bullfighter was the first team to the scales with a 217lb fish that held first place. WTG!

Team Hipocrit placed second.

I'll get the official weights and team names when it comes available.

1ST PLACE

2ND PLACE

WTG Team Bullfighter! hb

The swordfish mount looks beautiful. Looks to be about the same size of your fish right? Maybe a bit smaller.

Either way, great catch and finish.

At 7:00 p.m. on Friday we decided to pull out of the tournament due to slow prefishing. Then at 8:30 p.m. we change our minds and decide to do it. We run over to the meeting just before it ended and register. Spent all day Saturday rigging and second guessing where to fish.

We set up around the 49 and 56 at 8:20. At 8:45 the deep tip rod with a huge runner gets slammed then goes slack. Dad grabs the rod and starts reeling and were tight. We clear the lines and the fish dumps three quarters of the spool lined with power pro (close to 2000 feet) in one run. Then the fish stops and Tom puts the wood to him, the fish did not take another inch. 45 minute fight and a 73 inch fish floats up backwards. He was tail wrapped and the hook was dragging in the water six feet behind him. We boat him and head home at about 9:30. He went 217 at the scales.

Jeff puts on a great tournament. I like the no rules, just get the fish to the dock aspect.

Congrats on a solid win Bullfighter. Your team has it all put together and it shows. Nice pig of a fish!

We had our shot about the same time. 200 foot squid got slammed and ran balls out for about 15 seconds straight down, I got tight probably to quick and within a minute or so...pulled hook. That was our only bite, we fished till 3am.

Good going Team Bullfighter, what a sweet win this must be for you guys and 200lb club member x 2 . Team Hippocrit Congradulations on your 2nd place finish.

we came tight on 2 fish, but the hooks pulled 0/2 and 1 slashed bait.

I'm pretty sure Cabo Out was third place and they took the $500 calcutta as Bulffighter was not in the calcutta.

Default Swordlord information

Does anyone have a final tally of the swordfish caught from swordlords?

Can you post it?

It seemed like the bight turned on around 9 p.m. with the exception of that early bird heavy-weight that team Bullfighter landed. Good job guys, and it is even better to get in early too. I can only imagine dreaming over a pile of cash as the night ticks on and the biggest fish is still 72" and biggest by weight too.

I think I heard of about a dozen fish caught but did not keep track as the night wore on.

We were out late on "the new and improved" FinalPoint and Team FinalPoint put a small keeper in the boat around 9:30. We stayed out late to see if there was any chance to get a 70+" fish. Even with a big blue runner out and a nicely varied spread, no other bights for the night. But one keeper is still a good night by most standards.
