Default I caught my first Tuna

For the 4th of July, I went fishing with Canyon Runners Charter out of Point Pleasant NJ. The trip consisted of all Veterans of Iraq. The Charter boat and crew were great and I caught a Tuna of about 65 lbs, my first ever!

I am sure for those of you that get out all the time it is common but I can't begin to afford that type fishing often. For me it was a great day with great fishing companions.

In Savannah GA, where I mostly fish, the Gulf Stream is 60 miles out and was way to far for my little 19 ft Bayliner. But this week I took possesion of my 25ft Mako (pictured below) and hope to be able to catch more big fish.

Great job --If it's the canyon Runner, I fished with them a few years back--Capt. Phil Delaney--we caught some serious ahi!!! They know hoe to get it done in Jerseyi--it was an all night marathon, though

Default Yeah Mon. Congratulations.

Yeah Mon. Congratulations.

It's about time some of you military personnel, get some flavor out of life instead of being targets in Iraq. Thanks for the hard work in your line of duty: afterall you have been risking your lives, to getter done.

They're pretty strong fish aren't they? Especially the ones over 50 lbs.

Glad to see you had a wishing and got to go Tuna fishing.

I am making a batch of Tuna Poke, for a fishing related party tomorrow. May I suggest that you try it yourself, if you eat uncooked tuna/fish. The recipe is posted in the Recipes section of this forum. From the Doctor's orders.
