Default Our Troops

Your Cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your 'buddies' that aren't with you.

He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.

He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is.

He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.

He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.

He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.

He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.

He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.

He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.

He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.

He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.

He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You see only what the media wants you to see.

He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.

He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.

He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.

He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

Everyone should look at these pictures every day along with the reminders of 9/11. Be thankful we have an Administration and soldiers that have the "cahonies" to do something about it.

I love hearing shmucks like this talk out there ass. My Wife is biologist for the ARMY CORP and there is no dought Sadam used Chemicial warfare.

He orderd a mass chemical Genocide against his own people. Children,Babies lungs where burnt and they choked to death on there own fluids. So we didn't find a orgy of evidence? He had over a year to clear his $h!t out before we invaded.

Here is some stuff you never hear about:

Iraq has more Electric power and Water supply now than it did before the war and demand has increase 70-80%.

National electricity capacity to more than 5,300 megawatts – a level that exceeds the country’s pre-war capacity of 4,400 megawatts.

A 33-megawatt generator went up Aug. 30 at the Qudas Power Station north of Baghdad. It is producing enough electricity to service nearly 100,000 homes in central Iraq.

Another generator that had fallen into disrepair after two decades of neglect and war was back on line Aug. 29 in northern Iraq, producing enough electricity to service 51,000 Iraqi homes.

This past month Alone. U.S. engineers have added 202 Megawatts to the national grid.

More than half a million new jobs created, new industries and new factories coming on line and the sale of thousands of home appliances such as washing machines and air conditioners. They emerging from three decades of isolation.”

Take your libral, Hippy ass back to that Van your living in. We'll protect the country You just sit there and compain.

The world is a better place without this low life scum.

Lightbulb 1/2 a million new jobs here would be nice

Would be nice to see as much effort here at home. From the look of the economy we could use 1/2 a million new jobs , new industries, and new factories here. Why whenever somebody disagrees w/ the administration are they labled as liberal hippie scum? I guess the founding fathers were the same liberal scum when they dissented about the regime they saw as unjust . Blind Nationalism is the first step to Fascism . We have a duty to scrutinize what our officials are doing and vote accordingly. Now all we need is a candidate that we could truely get behind, instead of having to choose between the lesser of two evils .

sorry about the thread derail. Our troops deserve all the respect we can muster. We owe them in every way.

I'm only 32 yrs old and come from nothing and don't live ina van and I don't whine about politics and I am not a stoner, I've greated a small little empire in this country that gives up the opportunity to. I'm very thankful for your wife being part of the AMRY CORP enginers and does a great service to this country but, if I am not mistaken before I was born the american government and CIA in the late 60's and early 70's put Sadam in power, trained his armies and also provided him with the chemical warfare he used against his own people. Also, if I am not mistaken, we put Osma Bin Ladan in power, trained his CIA, his armies (taliban), to get rid of the Russians who were invading Afganistan in the late 70's and early 80's. Sorry to get away from what this forum is really about, I will be out on the water Saturday and Sunday enjoying cold ones in our free country.

i'll try to be eloquent and less than confrontational. saddam put himself in power, the cia did not do this. he rose to power in the 50's and this is also when the he started the baath party. saddam did'nt become an instrument of the u.s. till the shah of iran fell and iran was taken over by the ayotollah. the whole "the enemy of my enemy is my "friend". that being said, if he (saddam) was our boy, why is it that the iraqi army has the ak-47 as their weapon and in both wars everything we blew up was russian made??? and as far as chemical weapons go, we have not sold chemical weapons to anyone. and for your info, saddam had vx nerve agent. there are only 4 countries in the world that have vx nerve in addition to weaponized smallpox. care to guess who? u.s., great britain, france and russia. remember when saddam was attempting to build his "super cannon"? with your logic it was the united states that must have been giving him this technology. wrong, it was france. france, russia, and china all had their sticky little fingers in the food for oil scam. and you wonder why the united nations refused to utilize military action on saddam??? too much money to be lost. you sit around and mourn "our" troops for having to go over there, i've been in the army for 12 years as an infantryman, i have seen 31 months of combat in 3 countries. we are an all volunteer force, i and my fellow soldiers are here because we want to be here, we as a whole yearn for something more than sitting in a cubicle with our starbucks reading the daily paper. no one in the media or the states cared when clinton invaded kosovo, without a un mandate or senate approval, but when the senate votes for war with iraq, you attempt to make george bush the fall guy. all 3 of the wars i participated in were just and noble causes. when i get access to bloodydecks.com , i will post one of my memoirs that i put in the hawaii section in this forum.

As a recently returned Iraq veteran (2nd tour) Thank you all for your support of the Military. I returned home from a 14 1/2 month deployment in Iraq on 4 May 08. Went out Fishing for the 1st time today. Posted a trip report in the Shark Fishing Section.

For Some pics of us fishing in Iraq you can check out my website at SHARKFIGHTER.COM, although there wasn't much to catch except carp and asp and we didnt get much opportunity to fish.

For a good look at what is going on in Iraq from the troops on the ground prospective I highly reccomend Task Force Marne | Maintain the Warrior Ethos -- Live the Army Values

Of recent note is the article on the opening of Fish Farms with the assistance of US troops Fish farming rebounds in MND-C

Stay Safe and may God Bless America, I think the point of the message that started this thread was not whether the War is justified or not (my opinion it is) but to remind us all of how fortunate we are to live in the greatest country in the world and be thankful for all our blessings here, especially the Fishing!

We appreciate the heroes that chose to serve this country, defend freedom and democracy, the American people and protect their Way of Life around the world.
Those that humbly serve as guardians to their fellow Americans and defend those who are unable to defend themselves. Defending the freedom of speech and freedoms enjoyed by all Americans (Even those that belittle their mission). They voluntarily accept the hazards of their profession placing the welfare and security of others before their own. They serve with honor on and off the battlefield to defend and protect this country from its enemies. Brave men and women have fought and died building this great nation and defending the proud traditions of freedom and liberty.

God Bless all our service men and woman.

Never Forget 9-11. Never Forget Pearl Harbor.

And may our enemies never forget, Paybacks a Bitch.
