Default what is my boat worth

Guy's ,

I have came a cross a great deal on a bigger boat with dual evinrude motors so I am thinking about selling my boat and buying this boat.

I own a 2004 pro-line sport 25 has a single honda 225 motor , boat is in excellent shape under 300 hours use, kept on trailer , very clean looks brand new ? where is the best place to get an idea what is todays selling value on it?

Try "BUCVALUE"..............(Yes, it's spelled correctly)... About the most accurate there is..IMO....

You have a nice fuel efficient boat that will get you out on most days you want to fish.So I would keep what you have for now.2 motors are twice the headache and burn twice the fuel at $4.25 a gal.

The whole BUC system is out of touch because very few brokers use it anymore. Probably the best way to gauge your boats value is to go to a website New and Used Yachts for Sale - YachtWorld.com Then, search for similar boats and see what they are asking. Figure they are actually selling for 10 - 20% less.

I stil say BUC. IMHO, it shows a good base for what the boat is worth, not what the owner "thinks" ( ) his boat is worth. After looking at it, if you want to bring the asking price up, then it's up to the seller, (more $$$) and broker (more commission, $$$$$), but most importantly and realistically, what the market will support is what will dictate the final price.....

The used boat market has crashed; many people are only getting 1/2
of what their boat is worth. I looked into selling my boat and I know
2 people in the industry, each for around 4 decades, and both
independently told me that they use to be able to get in the low-mid 30s
for a boat like mine, but they would be lucky to get 20 for it right now
and it will take months to sell. cheers, arthur

Good points on used boat sales guys. Actually, market is great for buyers with the cash. Stinks for sellers.

Rehab, brother, you have a relatively new boat, a 25' with a good single screw and you're worried about crossing 50-miles to Bimini, well, a little farther if your're in Broward or Palm Beach?

You go swording, obviously. If you stall out there or even closer to Bimini, it makes no difference. For nearly 20-years, I ran to the Bahamas, Tortugas, and out in the Gulf and a ton of other places in my old trustee Oceanic 21' with a 200 Evinrude. Never had a problem. I planned well, maintained my equip, had my safety gear in place and had gold plan towing insurance. I did have problems a couple times with my engine while I had the boat, but they happened on this side; in the bay or Intracoastal. Problems can happen anywhere but this should not stop you from Bahamas crossings if you have a good boat and engine. Just plan well.

I say hold on to your Pro.

Good luck either way.

Juan
