Default did anyone see "GimbaLok" on the chevy florida fishing report this week???????

did anyone here that watches the chevy florida fishing report see the new GimbaLok rod buts??????? they are made by finovations inc. mine and my buddies company we are the inventors, patent holders and at this time sole distributers of Gimbalok rod butts.

they were invented for electric kite reel to lock them in while running and fishing but we have adapted them over the last 2 years to use them lock almost any kind of rod in(any AB-1 to AB-6 size, straight or bent butt and short bent butts) while running(you would not want to lock in most reels while you are fishing b/c you may need to pick it up quickly) they are especially great for electric sword reels b/c you are never going to pick iy up out of the rod holder so you might as well lock it in and now there is no need secure the rod to the boat with a leash.

check out the GimbaLok web site at www.GimbaLok.com and let me know what you all think. i would really love some feedback maybe i can make it even better.
i anyone is interested in making a purchase give me a call. i will get you a good price!!!!!!!! 561-568-2398

you can also check out the chevy florida fishing report here SunSports & FSN | Your Florida Sports Networks it is at the end of the second segment

That's a damn good idea Might think about putting them on my Sword rods cause I don't take them out of the rod holder.

they would be perfect for your bent butt sword reels, not so much for your stand up setups(unless you are worried they might go overboard when you are running). also if you are looking to use it on a daytime sword rod we are in the process of making a version that will work for swivel rod holders.

yes it would be possible to retro fit a GimbaLok in your existing butt it is not recomended b/c i would have to heat up the epoxy that is used to keep the gimbal on and there is no telling what that will do to any finish on the butt. that being said we are selling the gimabal piece by itself and you are welcome to try and fit it yourself.i would recommend getting a new one. the price is $30 for the gimbal by itself and between $100 and $200 for the whole thing depending on what kind of butt and what size!

How does the mechanism hold up in a saltwater environment? What kind of testing have you guys done on this? Does the product come with a warranty? It looks like a great idea.

yes i can put it on an aftco butt or any but for that matter even for spinners but u would have to call up aftco and get a butt without a gimbal(which they will sell you if u ask for it) because i can get the gimbal out of 1 that already has a gimbal but it usually screws up the finish on the bottom part of the butt when i heat up the metal to get the gimbal out!!!!!! if u give me a but with no gimbal i can put my gimbalok on it an it looks perfect!!!!!!!!!

Girber420, this is only a suggestion, but one of the reasons that folks are
not getting too excited is because your web page describing the product
really needs some work. Please take this as a positive comment to
help you out but looking at your web site and how you have your product
displayed really does not show me how to use it on my boat. good luck.
cheers, arthur

It is a cool product.I like the kite rod application. You should make one for a trident as well.

i argee with you i dont like the web site either. i have made many suggestions to make it better but the people resposible for that are not very receptive but i am working on it!!!! if you have an specific questions ask me!!!! but for the most part if u look on the web site and look at the pictures you see the gimbal that is milled out and i am sure you know there is a bar at the bottom of your rod holder. when you stick the rod in the holder you push down so the bar slides up the milled out part an twist till it locks. now the rod is lock in and the only way you will lose that rod is if the rod holder is pulled out of the gunnel!!!!!!!!!!

also on rods that you will be using for trolling, kite rods, bent butts, or any non standup rod will have an off set gimbalok so when you lock it in on say a bent butt wahoo rod they would point straight back when locked in. but on a say standup light tackle sailfish rod (that u might need to pick up real quick that you dont want locked in while fishing only while running) when you lock them in the rod be slightly turned in the holder so you can tell they are locked!!!

quack it was originally designed for the electric kite rods as far as i remember the last time i used them with the trident they worked!!!!

if anyone has any other questions or want to make any purchases let me know
