Gentlemen,
I need a custom built fishing rod. I have seen a few posts on the forum from a few guys that build custom rods. I would like to keep the business in the SFC family. If anyone is interested in undertaking this project please send me a pm to work out the specs and ordering details. I thought my request would be of interest to some, that is why I am posting it on this thread. Check out the specs needed for the custom rod. The spining rod will be used for casting poppers or live bait to Yellowfin Tuna. The rod is to be 7'-6" long maximum, 20-50# class with a medium flex at the tip for distance casting. Aluminum stora-butt (2 piece rod) with a foam grip above the real seat. I need to add a harness clip loop reciever between the 2 rod pieces (the mickey mouse ear double loop style). It may need an extra guides toward the rod tip to distribute the load past the flexible tip to the meat of the rod. The guides must be able to take the abuse of spectra line. This is the next generation of tuna fishing equipment, stand up spinners. I will use a FinNor 9500 Offshore reel and load it with 80# spectra. Are there any new rod tip designs that incorporate the castability of a loop eye and the reduced friction of a roller tip guide ? Any comments or suggestions on the specs would be appreciated.
