Tragedy at work. Honoring a friend.

Some of you guys know that I am in the oil business. I roughnecked for 5 years in the gulf of mexico but now work in a oilfield in south florida. Yesterday one of our contract roughnecks was killed on the drilling rig. He sustained fatal internal injuries while working over one of the wells. This is very sad for us, he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. It is a tough business and many guys are killed and injured each year in the oil patch.
Able was a gentle soul. He leaves behind a 5 year old son. Tragically his wife was killed in an auto accident just a few years ago.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Nothing worse than a comrade struck down in his prime. Condolences to the family.

My tearfilled sympathy for the son. What a tragedy to lose both parents by the age of 5. What life lesson must be learned from that? God only gives us what we can bear.

He will be in my prayers tonight.
