Default Canyon Runner Reports 12/3, 12/5, and 12/6

After dealing with terrible cable modem service all week I am finally able to post my reports!
12/3- Fishing just outside government cut we found horribly slow fishing! A few mahi and some cudas were the highlight of the morning...we then pushed out and got some better gaffers under some weeds and rope. Heading north we pulled in to finish our day just north of haulover in 110'. After slow trolling through 4-5 kings bites we were determined to raise a sail. Finally at 4pm it happend and we made a clean release on a hefty 65lb sail!
12/5- Today I was the mate on the Highway 61, a 60ft hatters. Running the pit with Jay Richadella and Capt. Cris at the helm we put Ron, the owner, on some nice kings (7 to 20lbs) and a few mahi. Unfortunately because of Ron's late flight in we were off to a late start. There appeared to be a good bite on sails early just north of triumph. Called it early returning to the dock by 3pm
12/6-off to another late start on the Hwy 61, we cleared the inlet at 9 with a well full of gogs and fresh caught pilchards, compliments of Miami beach Marina! We headed south of triumph hoping some of the sail from the day before were still around. We had great conditions with a slight north current and quickly had mahi invading us at a steady rate. Throughout the day we caught several, 8 I think, mahi and two muttons off the bottom! Finally our sail came on the long kite bait, it was a quick battle and we released the little guy unharmed! A stout 30lb sail! (I hope to have 9 or 10 of those for the Sail Kickoff this weekend! )
We again called it an early day with only 4 hours of fishing...
As I hinted, I am fishing the Sail kickoff with team Telamon...good luck to everyone competing!!!
