New Lattitude is now on Team Donzi

The past 3 weeks has been going by so slow for me as the new boat gets ready. First we had to take delivery of the boat. Then we had to mount the engines which came separately, and then the electronics had to be installed. Thanks to Marcos from West marine in Ft. Lauderdale he hooked me up on one of the finest installation jobs I have seen. Our maiden voyage was a Swordfishing trip last Sunday night. The weather wasn't bad and the trip out was great. The performance is outstanding even at 4000 rpms. The engines have to be broken in first. The double step hull adds to the performance. Check out some pics at www.newlattitude.com
We didn't get to fish the Mayors cup last week but I heard their was some good numbers of Sailfish caught. I took my wife for a boat ride yesterday and we heard a Kingfish caught that weighed 45 pounds right out front of Port Everglades.

We went on another Swordfishing trip on Thursday night and it was another beautiful night with seas less than 2 feet and a slight easterly breeze. We fished dead baits and went 1-4. A nice change from the other night. This was a night of the pups as I heard Captain Ron call it from Team Changed Conditions. Everyone who was out was pulling hooks on almost every fish. We had fish on solid for 1-3 minutes and the hook would pull loose. Finally we were able to do something right and got a solid hook-up in the corner of the jaw of our last fish. So we boated him since my crew wanted to put some meat on the table and he was just at 50 inches, tip of lower jaw to the fork of the tail. I just want to mention an important point when all of us recreational guys are Swordfishing. We must call in every boated fish. This is crucial if we want to continue with the limits that we are allowed to catch and also if we don't want the longliners coming back into our waters. The NMFS # to call is 1-800-894-5528.
