Thursday morning i got a call from a couple of friends saying"lets go swording tonight, the weather looks good!" I said "Let's do it!",and we did.As we were rigging baits and loading the boat we noticed that the wind definetly was not 10-15 out of the ssw,it was 15-20 out of the ene.Of course NOAA was wrong again! Anywho we still decided the trip muct go on.We made the run out to the grounds in the 4-5ft washing machine seas, and were set up by 7pm.By 7:30 we were tight on our first fish. Danny quickly got a 40lb pup up to the boat for the quick painless release in 10 minutes. We dropped the baits back out,and about 20 minutes later the 150jug starts to click.Never got tight on the fish, seems like the fish was wrapped up in the leader. We decided to run back out deep and fire the baits out. After about another hour,Mark decided to do a little chumming for us. When all of a sudden the 100ft jug gets nailed,we get tight on the fish, and she takes some serious line. After about 10 minutes its a standstill, and with the waves crashing the side of the boat the line slipped between the roller guide and the rod.We pulled the fish off! We decided to call it a night at 11pm. I herd of some nice makos caught too.I have yet to catch one this yr,but there is still a ton of time left! With the full moon right around the corner,we should get out there and soak some lines! Give me a shout i still have a few nights left this month!
