Default Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report

July 15, 2005

One of the nicest weather days on the water in a while. The fishing was on the quiet side but we did get into the big Bonita's a few times and a couple of Barracuda. An occasinal Kingfish and Cero Mackerel were taken eralier in the week. They were shallow and nice size. The Dolphin action has been very scattered, not much to fish to so luck is playing a big role. The bottom bite is made up of Lane, Yellowtail and Mutton Snapper during the day. You can add Mangrove to the list after dark.

Default Fort Lauderdale/Miami/Boca Raton fishing report

It has been a while since my last update. I have spent most of the last month traveling. I did get to spend some time fishing my old stomping grouds and had some outrageous Bluefish action on Long Island Sound in NY. They said it was the best bite in over 10 years!

Now back in FLA I did get out a few times. We had a decent Barracuda bite inshore yesterday, then went offshore to get into more. The Kingfish were biting deeper and we boated a few. The Bonita are around and when they find you all rods go off. The Dolphin action has been a bit spotty. In the middle of summer they are very scattered. If you feel lucky and spend some time and fuel sweeping the open ocean you might get into them, or not?

The bottom is giving up a few smaller Snapper and Jacks. We should continue this pattern for the next month or so. The daily weather plays a huge role in what can happen and fishing is fishing. If you pick the lucky day we are all happy and I look good!

Sea Ya,
