Looking for Advice on a Transducer TM260 or TM258

I am looking to upgrade to a 1kw transducer and started looking at the TM258 (~$550) but then I found the TM260 (~$700) is the price difference worth the performance difference?
I am trying to stay with the Transom Mount due to the fact that the thru-hull not only are more expensive but I can install the Transom Mount myself and it would cost more to install the thru-hull.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Check out Airmar. I have the B260 thru hull and it is great for a 1kw ducer. Not sure what they have for a transom mount ?

Both TM258 and TM260 are from Airmar, they also have a TM270W (Wide Beam), I currently have a P66 also from airmar but it stops reading when cruising past 3-400ft and drifting at 600+ it takes about a minute to lock on the bottom. if i decide to troll past those depths it doesn't lock on the bottom 1/2 the time.
