Richard I was down there last weekend at my place in Islamorada and you could walk on the schoolies...The big ones were scattered but people were catching them. We caught all our fish in close on rigged hoo's scattered weed but good breaks. P.s. all fish slammed pink...if it helps! Here is a pic of the fat girl we stuck last Sunday!

Thanks for the report and pics. Looks like a good trip. If they are still there we will find them. Pink works for me!!

It's always nice to get a little pink!!!!

Seriously, they have hit the fins better in the keys than they have up our way this past week. Went out twice this week with just schoolies to show for all the gas burned, although I did catch a few nice muttons and groupers in close. Reports have been some nice slammers down in the keys over the last several days. When you load up on the fins, try inshore with some livies for the bottom dwellers

Catch them up Doc and let us know how you did.

Just got back- Once again the weather was not the best though the run down and back were sweeeet. Took less than 3 1/2 hours to run from Islamorada to Boynton Beach.
Lots of rain and thunderstorms with some decent wind limited our offshore fishing to only two days. Both days we caught several nice dolphin in the 20 to 25 lb range. They were all singles and we didnt find the schoolies. One day we had a bunch of ten pound fish follow my Downrigger back to the boat and though we tried everything we had in the bait cooler they wouldnt eat, which was a little frustrating. Livies would have been a difference maker, I'm sure. Also caught some blackfin trolling the 409 Hump and did some deep drops and caught some large grey tile fish. Fished the reef one day and caught several keeper grouper, a nice mutton snapper and a bunch of yellowtails. Had a good time with some friends from far and near and the rum was flowing.
