Default Offshore science expieriment...

when the summer time dolphin stuff gets going and you run a tower boat... just make a turn offshore and 'sucker' all the little boats that follow you around to go fish 'whats in' your circle.... we had 3 at one time ... priceless!

I do that all the time anyway. I usually point and shout at empty ocean for added dramatic effect. Works great. I've also been known to drop stuff in the water on the way out as decoys.

good stuff, I followed the charters for a while when I first started fishing just wanted to see what they did and where. But know I really hate the blind trolling. So come out with a plan each time instead.

Thats the biggest reason why I take a weekday to go fishing, less pressure from other people that swarm you like mosquitos. I have been cut off several times by idiots that ran their boats between me and a hooked fish just so they could see what was going on....

I winter in the mid Atlantic and do some charters for light tackle and big cow stripers on the fly - I have never seen anything worse then the weekenders who troll clean through a school and drive them away.

We use to use a handheld vhf radio on the boat and one of the other guys and myself would just go back and forth about the schools of fish - except we would talk about a location 3 miles away - at times you could see the boats peel off one by one leaving us for the fake fish.

HAAHAHA I like this thread...me and my buddies have made a habbit out of what we now call the "RICKY RADIO CHECK"...it usually involves offending spanish speakers on the radio and lots of false fish information for the beggers as well. You guys should try it...pretty amazing!
