Default Boca 11/5...big bull

I was inspired by Coop’s report lol. Willie and I have had a string of bad luck with few keeper fish caught…it was time to break it. I took off of work around 2:30 and got all the gear ready and we were on our way by 3:30. Spent about 45 mins trying to catch bait with no luck. Joey was throwing the net like a champ but the bait was right on the beach and I couldn’t get the boat any closer than we were. On the last throw, Joey hauled up a keeper snook in the net, but we threw him back for another day.

With no bait, we ran out to the blue water, put the riggers out and dropped the lures back. Within 5 minutes we had had our first dolly on…just a little guy, but tasty. Congrats to Jason on his first dolphin. Nonstop action with the bonita. Saw some birds working and flipped the boat around to make a pass over a nice patch of weeds. While I was watching the left rigger, I see the big boy grey hounding at the short right. As soon as I walk over to the rod, the drag started to scream. Get him tight on the tiagra 12 for about 5 seconds and he decides to show me how strong he was and proceeded to buzz off line. Pulled in all the other lines and chased him down. We had a great show of him jumping and changing colors from white and blue to green, blue and yellow. Enjoyed about a 12 minute fight before Willie put a swift gaff to the lower jaw…perfect shot through his jaw bone disturbing no meat. In the coffin box, end of story.

Also worked the mutton bite which was non-existent for us. Caught about 30 little sharks ranging from reefs, spinners, and silky’s. Put one cobia in the box……made a ridiculous dinner last night and bloodied up the Yellowfin.

Tight lines.
Cutler
